Rise of Bhavani Kangan’s
Started by father of Mr Srinivas Jogi in the year 1956, Bhavani Kangan stores has reached new heights in these 65 years. Mr Srinivas came to Bangalore from Kundapura in search of new livelihood, he started a shop in Mysore road later shifted to DVG road and wanted to start his family business of selling bangles and so Sri Bhavani Kangan store came into existence. Mr Srinivas and his elder brother came into the family business at the behest of his father to help him during the crisis of labor shortage and so he stuck on to the business with his father. Even during his school days he would go to Market on cycle by 8.30 every morning , bring the required jewellery to the shop and then leave to school by 10.30 am and after school hours would come back to shop to look after the work, so interest developed in the business from young age. Later his father helped him in setting up a new shop in Jayanagar in the year 1981. He started the shop in a small rented area of 270 square feet, which now has expanded to 5000 square feet of own place.
Procurement of Jewellery
Mr Srinivas believes in his father ‘s policy of CUSTOMER BEING PATRON, they believe in providing the best quality to the customers and pricing it reasonably has helped them immensely. They procure jewellery mainly from Kolkata, but they also get it from all over India from Chennai, Mumbai, Jaipur and also from China. Traditional temple jewellery are procured from Chennai. They also believe in paying the suppliers immediately after the supply and do not believe in credit system, this has helped them to maintain good quality and cordial relationship with the suppliers. Artificial jewellery are made of many elements like panchaloha, copper and silver.
Success mantra;
Giving the best quality to the customers has always been their priority, they never compromise on quality and this has only resulted in getting a huge customer base varying from celebrities like Mrs Sudha Murthy, Cine actors like Bharathi Vishnu Vardhan, Tara, Jayanthi, and many other heroines and also TV artistes who have always been their customers. This is due to the availability of over 1 lakh variety of products with the best pricing. Many even copy their designs to replicate them in gold jewellery, such is their popularity. Having started his journey from just Rs 286 per day he has reached in achieving 10 to 12 lakhs per day now with a huge turnover of 15 crore per year and is the highest taxpayer in the state for fashion jewellery business.
Personal life:
Srinivas is an avid traveler having visited 40 countries in more than 75 tours and has made it a habit of visiting 2 countries every year. This also has helped him in broadening his knowledge about business. He is aptly supported by his family and his son is assisting him in his business and is getting ready to take over the reins of the business.
In the future, he would be interested in expanding his in the same place and is not keen on opening it elsewhere. He treats his workers, who are 50 in number with utmost care and helps them in all aspects in fact they are treated as extended family members and are taken care of their lodging as well as food, the custom which has been followed by his father’s time. He has always wanted to do give back to society and has built a choultry in his hometown, in fact, he plans to retire in his hometown and would love to take part in its development. Srinivas has grown to be a man of dedication and hard work in the field of Fashion Jewelry.
